Description

The HoverCam Outdoor Airship is a 25m3 helium filled envelope with a gyro stabilised camera mount suspended from the centre of gravity. Its powered by two electric motors and it is used with commecial film or video cameras and down links. The envelope is constructed from high tenacity nylon yarns. The gondola thrusters and camera mount are made of carbon - reinforced expoxy resin and foam sandwich laminate. The thrusters have four bladed variable pitch fans (±10º) that can be vectored 0º - 90º, this coupled with a rear vectored (±90º), allows total 3D manoevrabilitity.
